Save Grimescar Valley
A government-appointed planning inspector has ruled that Kirklees Council could be forced to provide land for 33,000 new homes to meet government housing targets. Our labour team and local people had successfully campaigned to protect
Grimescar Valley from development. 'We will continue to fight to protect the natural beauty of Grimescar Valley. It's a shame that this government is imposing massive housing growth on local communities. Greenhead ward is the most built-up ward in Kirklees, and has its fair share of new housing on the former Hopkinsons site in Birkby,' said Cllr Mohan Sokhal.
